Alberta Pauline Scwab

Alberta Pauline Schwab, 77, of Kalamazoo, passed away Tuesday April 7, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born May 10, 1948, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Lloyd Ritter and Clara (Miller) Ritter.

Alberta was an avid reader and enjoyed indulging in a good book. She was also a huge Chuck Norris fan and could often be found watching one of his movies. Every Friday during the summer was "garage sale" day. Her mom, sister, aunt and various grandchildren would accompany her. Above all else, Alberta adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them any chance she had.

She is survived by her son, Charles Schwab, daughters, Charlene Schwab; Lisa Schwab; Anita (Jerry) Zickafoose; and Stacey Colbert; grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, Chynna, Tabby, Asia, Tyus, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Ariel, Mickey, Shymeria, Ethan, Trinity, Pierre, Cashton and Londyn; eight great-grandchildren and her niece and nephews, Missy, Carl, and Steve.

Alberta was preceded in passing by her husband, Charles T. Schwab, whom she married February 9, 1972. She is also preceded by her parents, and siblings, LeRoy Ritter, Lloyd Ritter and Nancy Smith.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
