Elizabeth Mullin, 90, of Schoolcraft, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. She was born July 16, 1935 in Portage, the daughter of Sake and Anna (Cappaert) Roodbergen. Betty was a graduate of Nazareth Academy and went on to attend Davenport College. On November 12, 1955 in Kalamazoo, she was united in marriage to Walter Mullin. Betty was a dedicated wife, mother of six, and homemaker. In 1991, she and her daughter, Chris, founded Mullin’s Business Service LLC, providing accounting and tax services to small businesses. She was so dedicated to her work she didn’t retire until 2024 at the age of 89. Betty was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, and her faith was an important part of her life. Most important to Betty was her family and was a big part of the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by six children, Christine Mullin of Schoolcraft, Edward (Beverly) Mullin of Mattawan, James Mullin of Marcellus, Marian Stewart of Scotts, Paul (Jill Caudill) Mullin of Scotts, and Steven (Emily) Mullin of Mendon; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a brother, Henry (Kay) Roodbergen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter in 2014, a grandson, Todd Mullin, brother and sister-in-law, Al and Joan Roodbergen and son-in-law, James Stewart.
Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10 – 11 AM Friday, October 10, 2025 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Fr. Tom McNally, celebrant. Immediately following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Schoolcraft Cemetery. For those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her memory, the family suggests Rose Arbor.
