Gary A. Chopp

Gary A. Chopp, 65, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at his home. He was born October 10, 1960 in Paw Paw, the son of Andrew and Janet (Giddings) Chopp. He was a 1979 graduate of Parchment High School. Gary worked as a supervisor at Classic Gutter Systems, retiring in 2020. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of his yard, camping, fishing, hunting, and hunting morels.

Gary is survived by his wife of 12 years, Becky Chopp; five children, Kyle Chopp, Brian Nutter, Ricky Nutter, Megan Wyman and Morgan Wyman; six grandchildren, Cameron, Dakotah, Carter, Lily, Jackson and Kingston; his mother, Janet Chopp; three siblings, Ron (Diane) Chopp, Brenda Beck and Dan (Karol) Chopp; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Andy, his brother, Marty Chopp, and his sister, Tina Chopp.

A gathering to honor Gary’s life will be held from 10 AM – 12 Noon Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Antwerp Township Hall, 24821 Front Ave., Mattawan, MI 49071, where light refreshments will be served and a time of sharing will begin at 11 AM.
