James Michael Lynd

James Michael Lynd, 87, of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his home in Kalamazoo.

He was born May 21, 1939, in Kalamazoo, the son of Lloyd Lynd and Helen (Redmond) Lynd.

James was born and raised in Kalamazoo. He then served in the Air Force Reserves. He was an avid shooter and a member of ACTs and the Southern Michigan Gun Club. In addition, James was a true airplane enthusiast. He loved to travel and spend his time in the company of his friends and canine companions.

James is survived by his partner, Dwayne Cook along with the many friends he has made over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Helen (Redmond) Lynd along with his infant sister.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Adams - Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo. There will be a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. James will then be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
