John David Carpenter

Passed away Tuesday April 3, 2018 at home. John was born August 14, 1944 in Freemont to Clifford and Elizabeth (Sturgis) Carpenter. He retired from Crown Vantage Paper Mill. On Nov. 28, 1964 in Kalamazoo John was united in marriage to the former Amber VanAtti who survives. Also surviving are sons, Jacob (Brittani) Carpenter of Richlands, NC, Paul (Geraldine) Carpenter of Clinton Twp.; four grandchildren, Erik, Alivia, Emily, Joseph; two brothers, Steven Carpenter, Bob (Mary) Strugis; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, John and Jamie Carpenter; three brothers, Carl, Phil and Jerry Carpenter; sister, Joy Sturgis. Friends will be received 5-7 pm Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home; Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pretty Lake Camp.
