Joseph H. Dubnicka, 80, of Kalamazoo, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. Joe was born September 17, 1944 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the first of five boys to Joseph A. and Virginia E. (TenBusschen) Dubnicka. He was a 1962 graduate of Richland High School, after which he enlisted in the United States Army where he honorably served in the Vietnam War. On December 11, 1965 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo, Joe was united in marriage to the former Joanne Pedersen. Upon his discharge, Joe went to work as an electrician. He worked for Harlo Electric in Grand Rapids, RW Leet Electric in Kalamazoo and retired from Moore Electric in Kalamazoo. He enjoyed many road trips with his family, including visiting his son in Charleston, South Carolina and countless trips to Disney World in Florida. He always enjoyed having a steak at Epcot’s Canada pavilion. He was also an avid baseball fan having played in his youth and was a devoted Detroit Tigers fan. Above all, Joe was a family man who loved his family and cherished his time with his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne; three children, Suzanne (Lou) Dubnicka, Micki (Don) Florinchi and Joe Dubnicka; three grandchildren, Marisa, Grace and Owen Florinchi; three brothers, John (Vicki) Dubnicka, Paul (Dana) Dubnicka and Robert (Deb) Dubnicka. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steven Dubnicka.

Cremation has taken place and Joe will be laid to rest with full military honors at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012. Please arrive at the cemetery's assembly area by 10:15 AM. For those desiring to make a memorial contribution in his memory, the family suggests Kairos Dwelling.
