Rose G. Green

Rose G. Green, 96, of Kalamazoo, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Beacon Kalamazoo. She was born May 7, 1930 in Augusta, Michigan, the daughter of John and Bessie (Babcock) Shaffer. Rose worked for Gibson Guitar for 27 years and worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the Kalamazoo area including Little’s Restaurant. She retired from North American Aluminum at the age of 66. She was united in marriage to James Green in March of 1985. Rose enjoyed garage and estate sales, keeping her yard beautiful and was an excellent cook.

Rose is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jim; three children, Norma O’Day, Ben (Jeannine) White and Pam Perry; four grandchildren, Brandi, Becki, Kristy and Gabby; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her many siblings, and a great granddaughter, London.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 1 – 2 PM Monday, August 17, 2026 at the Adams-Redmond-Parchment Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 PM. She will be laid to rest immediately following at Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg.
