Sally A. Burnett

Sally A. Burnett, 78, of Kalamazoo, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Brookdale of Portage. She was born February 14, 1948 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Victor and Mildred (Miller) Chopp. Sally was a 1966 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She was an art aficionado and dedicated many volunteer hours to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Sally was also an advocate for animal rights, worked with animals at the zoo and loved the many dogs she had over the years. She also enjoyed traveling.

Sally is survived by son and his wife, Ryan and Heather Burnett; one sister, Joann Ring; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John.

Cremation has taken place. Sally and John will be laid to rest together at St. Mary Cemetery, Paw Paw. For those wishing to make a contribution in her memory, her family suggests the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
