Scott Allen Taggart

Scott Allen Taggart, 54, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully after a courageously fought battle against cancer on Sunday September 20, 2026, at his home.

He was born February 15, 1972, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Larry Potgiesser and Marianne (Klaiss) Potgiesser.

Scott was an outdoorsman and enjoyed being outside in nature. A favorite hobby of his was riding his bike through the various nature trails in the area. He also was an avid reader. He had a vast library of books and could always give you a good book recommendation. Scott was extremely grateful for the numerous good friends he had in his life. Scott lived each day to the fullest no matter what. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

He is survived by his parents, Marianne and Larry Potgiesser; and brothers, Robert (Terri) Taggart and John (Amber) Taggart; along with many nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Bob and Doreen Klaiss.

In accordance with Scott's wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no public services at this time.
