Stephanie Ann Peters

June 11, 1950 — July 18, 2025

Kalamazoo

Stephanie Ann Peters, died on July 18, 2025 after a courageous two year battle with breast cancer. Stephanie left this world knowing she was loved by her family, friends and colleagues. Stephanie was born June 11, 1950 to Phyllis and Neil Peters, Jr. in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Stephanie was a graduate of Lake Michigan Catholic High School in St. Joseph, Michigan where she was valedictorian. She went on to attend the University of Michigan. Stephanie worked in the family business, Neil's Automotive Service until it closed and she retired. Stephanie then became an employee of the Van Buren County Friend of the Court where she enjoyed interacting with her co-workers and members of the public. Stephanie was a voracious reader (especially of "trashy detective novels") and loved music. Her taste was varied and eclectic. She routinely introduced new music to her friends and family.

She is survived by her beloved son, Neil, her sister, Denise (Jeff) Brennan her nephews, Joshua (Katie) and Zachary (Natasha) Brennan and Sister in law Shannon Peters, a variety of maternal and paternal aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Phyllis, sister Linda Dalrymple, brothers Neil Peters III and Patrick Peters. Her family would like to thank her dear friend, Connie Selles and her uncle, Jerry Bultema, for their assistance, care and concern, during the final stages of her illness.

Her body will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Please do not send flowers. If you would like to do something, memorial donations may be made to the Neil W. Peters III fund at Worcester Academy, 81 Providence St. Worcester, MA 01604. Donations may also be made electronically at www.worcesteracademy.org/givenow and please indicate the Neil W. Peters III Award Fund in special instructions.
