Ucian "Tony" Garbacik

Ucian A. “Tony” Garbacik, 94, of Kalamazoo, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. He was born December 8, 1931 in Detroit, the son of Andrew and Zofia (Ozel) Garbacik. In 1952, Tony enlisted in the US Army, honorably serving until 1954. He later moved to Kalamazoo where he was united in marriage to the former Patricia Corstange and together raised five children. He worked as a millwright at General Motors in Kalamazoo until his retirement. Tony was a member of St. Ambrose Parish in Parchment and the Knights of Columbus Council #1616. He enjoyed painting, woodworking, golfing and bowling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by five children, Terry (Sue) Garbacik, Toni (David) Buskirk, Steve (Deanna) Garbacik, Rich Garbacik and Brenda (Bill) Peterson; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia, and all five of his siblings.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 – 11 AM Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Adams-Redmond-Parchment Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery. For those wishing to make a donation in his memory, the family suggests the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalamazoo or St. Augustine School.
